Fact: 300 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa live without access to clean water. Fact: for the past five years, Voss Foundation has been making a difference to hundreds of thousands of people in Sub-Saharan Africa with 68 clean water access points and 159 sanitation facilities in six countries. To address the global water crisis, VOSS Water is launching the “31 Days to Make a Difference” campaign on World Water Day (March 22) that will last through Earth Day (April 22).
“Access to clean water truly causes a ripple effect. Access enables children to attend school, strengthens women’s rights, and helps hospitals, agriculture and economies thrive. We are so grateful to our friends at VOSS for helping spread the word.”
This fourth annual “31 Days” campaign (or #31Days) will benefit Voss Foundation’s mission to provide access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene to enable community-driven development in Sub-Saharan Africa and raise awareness of the ongoing need in the region.
In their Facebook App and on Twitter, VOSS details the implementation process from start to finish. They follow Voss Foundation’s local partner, FACE Africa from Monrovia to Rivercess, through obstacles and triumphs in the rural Liberian community of Little Liberia.
As in past years, retail outlets, restaurants and hotels that sell VOSS Water around the world will display signage and other collateral materials educating global consumers about Voss Foundation’s clean water efforts. The Little Liberia water project was funded by an event last summer at Georgica Restaurant in East Hampton, New York.
“Our partners, donors and followers have been so supportive of our mission for clean water, sanitation and hygiene in Sub-Saharan Africa,” Voss Foundation’s Executive Director Kara Gerson explains. “Access to clean water truly causes a ripple effect. Access enables children to attend school, strengthens women’s rights, and helps hospitals, agriculture and economies thrive. We are so grateful to our friends at VOSS for helping spread the word.”
VOSS Water and Voss Foundation invite their social media followers to participate in making a difference. People who see “31 Days” materials can snap a picture and tag @vossfoundation, @vossworld and #31Days on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest.
