Spanish government to ramp up security at tourist sites after Barcelona attack
The Spanish interior minister says the country will maintain its security alert level at FOUR in the wake of Thursday’s terrorist attacks.
Zoido added that the government would bolster security in crowded areas and those frequented by tourists although no attack is believed to be imminent. He noted that Spanish authorities believe the terrorist cell behind Thursday’s attacks has been dismantled. Daesh has claimed responsibility for the car-ramming raid which killed one person in Catalonia’s seaside resort of Cambrils. The terror group earlier claimed responsibility for a similar raid which killed 13 people in Barcelona. A massive manhunt is underway for the main suspects behind the twin attacks.
